A Quiet Rainy Saturday
Becks has been exhausted and asked me to let her sleep late. I woke up early this morning and quietly crept out of bed. I then grabbed both the mutts and with one under each arm slid out of the bedroom. I was able to close the door without it creaking and quietly made sure it could not be opened by an over eager Jack Russell.
I was going to empty the dishwasher and do some laundry but decided against those activities since they would probably wake up Becks. Since it was a cloudy day I decided that cutting the grass was out of the question since I did not want to get half way through it and have the skies open on me.
Instead I decided to finish reading Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. Becks friend bought her this book when she found out she was expecting. It was a fairly entertaining book and presented an uncensored review of Jenny McCarthy’s pregnancy. I am glad I read it because when Becks is complaining about something and asks me if it is normal I can tell her that she is not the first one to experience her particular problem.
Becks woke up later that morning and we spent the middle part of the day hanging around being lazy and listening to the rain. I did a couple loads of laundry and then started reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Becks bought this book awhile back and never read it so I decided I would crack it open. I had no idea what it was about when I started reading it but the first 70 pages have been pretty good. There is nothing like some fiction and a good cup of tea on a rainy day!
Later that afternoon Steve, Charlotte and Mitch came over for dinner. Steve bough two chickens over which we split in half and grilled. I made a salad and broccoli to go with the chicken. For dessert I made some homemade vanilla ice cream to scoop onto brownies. It was a very tasty meal.

Sounds like a perfectly relaxing day! I wish it rained more here in Los Angeles, I love the smell of rain and the sound of it!
It was a perfect day! No rain in LA? I could not live there! It is really nice when we sit out on our porch and watch/listen to it come down.
