Dinner, Cleaning House and an Oil Change
This morning Becks asked me to wear my seer sucker jacket to church and I obliged. She likes trying to make me a Southerner and today was a good day to dress up since it was the 178th Homecoming Celebration at Indian Springs Baptist Church. During the service a history of the church was given and we both found it very interesting.
After the service we had dinner on the grounds. One thing Baptist do really well is eat there were two long tables covered with food of every kind including fried chicken, ham, roast beef, black eyed peas, field pea, butter beans, lima beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and collard greens among others. Along the wall were two more tables covered in desserts. I selected a four layered blueberry cream cake, grabbed a cup of sweet tea and happily ate. Dinner was very good.
When dinner concluded we headed home and cleaned the house. It was not the top item on my list of things to do on a Sunday afternoon but it had to be done. I almost suffocated myself as I was helping to clean Becks’ bathroom with Tilex and ended up having to open a window. It took us about two and a half hours to clean the house but it looked good once we were finished.
Once my house cleaning duties were finished I grabbed a beer, called for Jackson and went outside to change the oil in my truck. In addition to changing the oil I gave it a quick wash to remove some of the bugs I had collected on it returning from Jacksonville and also checked the air pressure in my tires. I have been trying to do this on a weekly basis in an attempt to make a gallon of gas go a bit farther. I will see whether it worked the next time I fill my tank and figure out how many miles per gallon I got on the current tank.
