One Year of Blogging

Today is my blog’s first birthday! I am pretty happy that I have kept this up over the past year.  It has been cool to be able to go back through the months and read about what I was thinking of or doing at a certain time.  In one year I have posted 404 entries, received 434 comments and had 22,640 hits.  Not too shabby for a blog about a guy living in North Florida.

Since I started blogging there has been some big news in the Bonfanti household, the biggest being we have a baby on the way.  I assume that once the little one gets here my blogging will go from a daily (usually) occurrence to a weekly one (if I am lucky).  I also know that it will soon be plastered with picture of our kid doing anything and everything (look, it yawned! how cute, take a picture and let’s post it!).

Despite my aversions to memes I guess that a blog’s first birthday is a good reason to do one.  The rules are to list 3 events, 2 birthdays, one death and a holiday that occurred on your blogs’ birthday.

Events:

1. 1840 – The Province of Canada is created by the Act of Union
2. 1903 – The Ford Motor Company sells its first car
3. 1995 – Comet Hale-Bopp is discovered and becomes visible to the naked eye nearly a year later.

Birthdays:

1. 1918 - Pee Wee Reese
2. 1936 – Don Drysdale

Death:

1. 1885 – President Ulysses S. Grant

Holiday:

1. Saint Bridget of Sweden Day

Let’s hope that my second year of blogging will be as fun as the first!
