Early to Bed
This week neither Becks or I have been getting a lot of sleep. Mason’s little schedule is still messed up due to the time change and instead of getting up once a night he is waking up at midnight and then again at 4:00 a.m.
As a result, outr sleep patterns are even more out of whack than before and this week it really caught up with me. While sitting in on a telephone deposition this afternoon I felt myself dozing off. I had to have my assistant grab me a diet Mountain Dew to get a jolt of caffeine to stay awake. When she dropped off the can she commented that when he daughter was born Mountain Dew became her best friend.
Tonight when I got home from work I looked at Becks and asked her what she wanted to do. She said she was exhausted after a long week and was not even interested in eating. I agreed and suggested that we watch television in bed since I was also beat. She was surprised that I suggested it and by 8:00 p.m. all three of us we tucked in ready for dreamland. By 9:00 p.m. the television was off and I was out like a light.
Of course our sleep did not last long and Mason started stirring at 11:30 p.m. making his little “uh, uh, uh” sounds that tell us he is hungry. He was, and after getting a fresh dry diaper Mason sucked down 6 ounces of formula.
