A Painting For Mothers Day

Becks' Mother's Day Present
We headed up to Thomasville this afternoon for lunch. After having a hamburger at Henderson’s we drove over to the downtown area. This weekend was the Rose Festival and Broad Street was packed with cars and people. Finding a parking space was impossible and we had to park in a lot near Moon Spin.
After strolling past a collection of vintage automobiles Becks, Mason and I began window shopping. We stopped in the usual stores and made our way to our favorite, the Book Shelf. On one of the walls when we walked into the shop was a paiting of a mother drying off her child after giving him a bath. The mother had blonde hair pulled back in a pony tail and the baby was plump. Standing there looking at Becks and Mason I thought that it could have been them in the painting.
Becks said she really liked it and by the way she said it I knew she wanted the picture. I had been trying to think of special present to get for her first Mother’s Day and the painting was the perfect gift. She was very excited as I took it off the wall and brought it up to the register.
As the owner and her husband were ringing the painting up she remarked that her sister had painted it from a photograph a friend had taken. I think it looks really nice and Becks plans to place it on our mantle above the fireplace in the living room where we can enjoy it on a daily basis.
