Man in Overalls

Driving to work last week I passed a man in overalls on the side of the road holding a sign that said “Grow Your Own Food and Share It”.  Since traffic was moving at a good clip as I passed him I did not think much about what I saw until the next morning when I saw him standing at the same place on Thomasville Road.  He had a new sign that said he was the Man in Overalls and listed a link to his blog. 

When I got home that evening I checked out what the Man in Overalls had to say and it turns out he is a young entrepreneur who is promoting urban gardening.  In addition to being a promoter for growing food locally Nathan offers gardening services such as coming to your home/business to construct a raised garden and fill it with delicious vegetables. 

I attempted to grow vegetables this summer and aside from growing a couple handfuls of sugar snap peas and some chili peppers my efforts were unsuccessful.  Maybe the way to go would be to build a raised bed along the fence or on the side of the house.  After seeing some of the projects he has completed, perhaps I should call the Man in Overalls and see if he will drive out to Monticello to help get things on the right track.
