Still reading Walden?
I’ve been meaning to read that.
I’ve read Richard Proenneke’s One Man’s Wilderness and The follow up to it. Some people have compared him to Thoreau, Except he lived in the wilderness for 30 years nearly continuously.

Those are some big hot dogs. Ever bought anything from the smokehouse there on 90 west of Monticello?

My wife has been buying the natural casing Nathan’s hot dogs. Those seem to taste much better than those Ball Park and Ocar Mayer Tubesteaks. Yech!

What a beautiful photo of your culinary creation, and what a credit you are to your Mother to remember her family recipe. With a wife who doesn’t cook, I bet there are times when you regret calling your Mom’s food “crud.”

Thank you for the comment! The “crud” reference was a loving one growing up. She even used to call it that when she made it and it became a kind of family joke. Luckily I inherited my family’s skill for cooking!

Sounds like a perfectly relaxing day! I wish it rained more here in Los Angeles, I love the smell of rain and the sound of it!

It was a perfect day! No rain in LA? I could not live there! It is really nice when we sit out on our porch and watch/listen to it come down.

Is that one of the old-style Fisher Price Barnyard toys? I loved that thing. I think it might have made a moo noise.

It sure is! Speaking of mooing noises, do you remember those little cans that you could turn over and one way they’d moo and they other they’d make another animal sound? Those were great.

The photo that you have for your banner - - - is that of / on the Blue Mountains in Jamaica? Cause it looks like it.

Nope, the picture above is of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. I have never been to Jamaica!
