Church, a Reception and Sunday Dinner

August 1, 2010

This morning we set a new record for getting ready for church and heading out of the house.  The kids were buckled in their car seats, their bags were packed and we were on the road by 10:35 a.m.  I was able to put Mason’s shoes on when we arrived and still make it to our pew before the music started. Impressive.

After church there was a reception for Pastor Greg and Paula.  Their families attended and the hall was packed with people.  So many people at church helped set the room up and it looked very pretty.  The food was also very good and Mr. Leonard’s chicken wings were a big hit.

When we got home both of the kids were exhausted and we put them down for naps while we finished up things for Sunday dinner.  I had put a ham in the oven before we left for church and Becks made some macaroni ‘n cheese, and sweet potatoes. The house smelled great and when Mason and Julia woke up later that evening we had a really nice meal that also included biscuits and fresh tomatoes.  It was a very relaxing day and a good ending to the weekend.
