Brewsday Tuesday: La Fin Du Monde

June 28, 2011

Name: La Fin Du Monde

Brewed by: Unibroue

Style/ABV: Tripel / 9.0%

Appearance: Cloudy dull golden yellow with a three finger head on top that slowly melts away.  Some light lacing is left behind on the glass as I drink the beer.

Smell: Banana, some citrus, bread, yeast, sweet malt and a cloves.

Taste: It taste like it smells starts off with banana, citrus and yeast, then some sweetness is noticeable that taste like pears. It finishes with some clover spiciness.  The alcohol taste is there but almost unnoticeable.

Mouthfeel:  Medium with medium to low carbonation.  The beer is very drinkable

Overall: A fantastic brew that is extremely drinkable, potent and complex.

Final Grade: A

I used to drink this all the time! For a while, that pool hall, Halligan’s, sold it and it went great with Goldfish crackers. 🙂
