Crossing Projects Off Our List

April 15, 2012

Being a homeowner some projects tend to hang around and avoid completion.  It’s not through laziness that they get but aside, but rather life.  This weekend with little man by my side we tackled three of these lingering projects.  The fire was to paint the portion of the front fence that our neighbor revealed to the world when she trimmed an azalea that straddles the property line.  Mason thought painting was a lot of fun and got more on the ground than the fence.  I touched up the areas we missed and was happy when the fence was covered.

The next item on our list was to paint the trim on the shed so it would match the house.  Mason watched as I covered the moss green with a deep gray.  While I painted he chatted with Miss Donna over the fence.  She gave him a little ice cream sandwich.  It made his day, and he also helped out by painting one of the lower edges of the door frame.

The last project was the removal of four metal fence post from an oddly placed chain link fence.  I am not sure who installed it, but it ran off the back edge of the house, parallel to the street for about 15 feet, then ended.  It served absolutely no purpose.  I took the fencing down about four years ago and left the poles in place until I had time to hack them out of the ground.  Two came out fairly easily and my father-in-law cut the last two down with a cement saw.  I filled the holes with some dirt I had in the shed and now that area of the yard actually looks nice.

I feel ya on this. I have been digging up stumps and why people would plant them right next to your foundation is beyond me. If you need to add to your list, I’ll share mine. 🙂

I know what you mean. You have stumps, I have fences to nowhere. I have no idea why some people do what they do. Ha, I have plenty else to keep me busy! I want to plant some citrus trees, Build a chicken coop. Paint the exterior… 🙂
