Racing to the Doctor’s Office

May 25, 2012

I finally succumbed to the kids’ cold.  My head has felt like it was full of cement for the past couple of days.  This morning there were signs of an infection, so I made an appointment with Monticello Family Medicine for late this afternoon.

As I made the turn onto Roberts Road Becky called and asked me to bring my computer home.  I was very unhappy as I turned around and back tracked to my office.  By the time I picked my computer up, and headed back home it was 3:15 p.m.  My appointment was for 3:30 p.m.

I called the doctor’s office to see how late I could be before my appointment would be cancelled.  Miss Paula told me I had 15 minutes of leeway.  If I did not get behind a slow poke I figured I could make it.

Of course, I got stuck behind a blue hair going 40 miles on Crump Road, and then a guy pulling a lawn mower on 90.  I was able to pass both of those clowns and pulled into the lot at 3:44 p.m.  I ran into the office and as the clock struck quarter to four I checked in with the nurse. Victory!
