A Visit from the Rubins
This evening our friends from law school brought their three kids over to Monticello for a cook out. Becky went all out planning things and bought a Slip-N-Slide for the kids to play on. It is great being married to a former event planner, and before they got there she had everything ready to go.
The kids had a blast playing on the swingset; running around the yard; playing on the Slip-N-Slide; and trying to catch our various animals. It was fun watching them splash around as I sipped a cold PBR and made sure one of the lawn chairs didn’t try to run away.
When the kids were tired we tossed some hot dogs on the grill and ate outside. For dessert we made Smores. Becky had nver had a Smore and loved them. I still cannot believe it was her first time having one.
We had a lot of fun, and by the time everyone left the kids were exhausted. Mason fell asleep on the couch a little after 8 o’clock and we had both kids in bed by quarter of nine.
