Soundtrack to My Week

August 24, 2012

Some people can work in complete silence. I am not one of those people. I need some sort of music playing in the background as I write. In college it was ska. In London it was whatever I picked up from H&M.  This week as I tackled a number of files Spotify provided the soundtrack to my work day.  Here are ten songs I could not stop playing:

A couple weeks ago I had not heard of any of these songs.  Hell, I didn’t know these artist existed.  While the free aspect of Spotify rocks the sweeter thing is clicking on related artist and heading down a rabbit hole that leads to something you’ve never heard.

I have not heard of any of those artists either. I suppose I will have to check out Spotify now. I like the Alice in Wonderland approach to, well, everything.

You should absolutely check out Spotify! And yes, the Alice in Wonderland approach to life is preferred! You never know where it will take you!

Great idea! I usually work in silence when I write but maybe music will help!

Silence? No idea how you do that!

I don’t know! It just never occurred to me to put music on. Sometimes I talk to myself (not in a weird way) I just say what I’m writing aloud.

I sometimes will read what I write out loud too. It helps me to catch (some) grammatical errors! Try the music thing and let me know if it works for you.

The only one I have heard of is Delta Spirit but I did enjoy listening to this. Thanks!
