Fall Garden Update: Week 3

September 24, 2012

Things in the garden continue to grow fairly well.  Five of the six cabbage are doing well, though I will have to keep my eye on the first one in the second row. It is much smaller than the others and has not grown much (if at all) since being put in the ground.

The collard greens and Swiss chard are both doing very well.  I am watering the garden in the morning and in the evening.  Temperatures have been in the 80s during the day and in the 60s at night.  So far the garden is free from pests, and I applied the second round of fertilizer this evening.  If everything keeps going well the first cabbage will be ready in another seven weeks.
