Silly Monkeys in a Pumpkin Patch

October 20, 2012

We loaded the kids up and headed into Tallahassee to visit a pumpkin patch.  Becky wanted to take some pictures of them with the pumpkins and they were not cooperative. Mason stuck out his tongue while Julia made monster faces and growled.  Becky was unhappy. I laughed. This made the situation worse. Eventually we were able to persuade the munchkins to look in the general direction of the camera and smile.  They looked very adorable.

Before heading out they each picked out a pumpkin. Out of the hundreds in the patch Mason selected a tiny gourd. I asked if he wanted to pick another one out, and he picked up a slightly larger one with a smile on his face. Julia picked up a tiny pumpkin too, while Becky selected a 40 pound monster.  I picked it up and shuffled towards the counter.  Space between lumbar vertebrae is overrated.

The guy at the front estimated the costs of the pumpkins and while I paid Mason scored a sticker from one of the pumpkin patch volunteers.  Julia refused a sticker and made her way to a wagon to pet a very obese wiener dog.  After saying good, we loaded the kids and the pumpkins into the car and headed off to Troy’s birthday party.
