Swinging for the Fences

It was almost 80 this afternoon.  After roasting a chicken, and eating dinner, Mason, Julia and I went outside to play.  Mason’s newest game is to have me be the coach and tell him what to do as he runs around with the football.  He tends to fumble a lot, and suffer various fake injuries.  Today it was something to his knee.  I told him to play through the pain, and he scored a touchdown on the ensuing play.

He eventually tired of me being the coach and decided to hit balls off the tee with his sissy.  They each grabbed a bat and took turns hitting.  Before Julia hit the ball, she sang a little song. Mason looked at me and asked her what she was doing.  I told him I had no idea as Julia hit a dribbler.

Mason hit frozen rope after frozen rope and eventually tore apart one plastic baseball.  We had another in the bin, and he continued to whack them around the front yard until Miss Julia had to be rushed inside for an emergency bath.  It was nice to be able to spend an early December afternoon outside with the kids.

She was singing her walk up music OBVIOUSLY. Geez. And I’ll alert Coach A to Miss Julia’s abilities.

She was cuing her walk-up music! She sang the same little thing every time. Too funny!
