Landon’s Birthday Party
This weekend Becky went home to visit her dad and spend some time with her family. Meanwhile the kids and I hung around the house before heading off to a birthday party. It was for Mason’s buddy Y(L)andon, and Becky told me it was at 3:00 p.m. at the Fun Station in Tallahassee. We started getting ready a little before 2:00 p.m. and arrived in the parking lot with time to spare. Both kids had fallen asleep on the ride over, and I let them nap while I listened to the FSU basketball game on the radio. Promptly at 3 o’clock we strolled into the Fun Station. It was overrun with screaming middle schoolers and a bit rough around the edges. We looked for Landon and Mason’s other little buddies but did not see them. The girl in charge of the birthday parties had not record of the birthday party being scheduled.
I called Becky who called Landon’s momma who called me. The party was at Fun Station Jr. on Thomasville Road rather than the big kid variant where we were located. I loaded the kids back into the car and made the short drive to the right location. I was embarrassed and told Landon’s momma it was my fault for not reading the invitation.
As for the party, once we got to the correct venue the kids had a blast running around, playing in the various bounce houses, eating pizza and watching Landon open his presents.
