Mending the Fence
The property line between the neighbor’s house and ours is divided by two fences. Hers runs from the back of the property line to about the middle. Ours runs from the middle to the front. Her is falling apart and two sections of it came apart at the top creating a perfect Terrier sized hole. Jackson of course discovered the hole and used it to extend his territory into the adjoining yard. Her tenant, Wood, and I attempted to block the hole with trees limbs, a concrete statue, and several stakes.
We thought we had things under control until Jackson was found wandering the Winn-Dixie parking lot on Friday afternoon. Whoever found him brought him to the Vet’s office where our friend Tammy recognized him. When she could not get a hold of us, she called the kids’ daycare and they were able to track us down. I love living in a small town.
While we were up in Thomasville this afternoon I bought a roll of chicken wire and some 24″ zip ties. Mason and I used the chicken wire and zip ties to patch up the hole. The bottom is a little bouncy since there was so post to attach it to, but once Wood slides the tree limb back along the bottom it should keep Jackson inside our fence.
