2013 Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook Off
Tonight was the 2013 edition of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook Off. The director of the chamber asked if I would judge, and I roped in Abe and Sara of Two in Tally as fellow “celebrity judges” (there is obviously a dearth of celebs in JeffCo!). There were fourteen entries this year and our job was to taste each chili and then rank them from one to fourteen. The top chili won first prize of $350 dollars while second walked away with $200. We also chose the best table.
After sampling each of the chilies we arrived at a winner. First place was awarded to Katrina’s Kitchen, a new local catering company. Second place went to Jefferson Arts. Best table went to the Property Appraiser’s Office. For our efforts we were given a roll of Tums and a certificate suitable for framing. It was fun night, and I am happy I got to be a part of it for a second year in a row.
