Mason’s First T-Ball Practice

March 25, 2013

Tonight was Mason’s  first ever t-ball practice.  We headed down to the Rec Park a little before 6 o’clock and looked for his coach.  Mason is on the team sponsored by Fulford Farms and we eventually found his coach and team mates.  Mason was excited to see who else was on his team, and was happy to his buddy from big boy school, Old Beau.

After sorting out a field scheduling issues the (Farmers? Peanuts? Fighting Okra?) took the field.  The practiced ground balls, throwing to first base, and running around the bases.  The coach also gave them a chance to line up and hit some balls off the tee.  Mason’s first swing was a miss, but the next one connected and he ran around the bases looking very serious.

When practice finished Mason played on the Rec Park’s huge slide while I talked to my friend.  We stopped on the way home and got an ice cream.  He said he had a good time and asked when his next practice was scheduled.  I told him a whole week, and he let out an “oh man!” as he ran in the house to tell him mom all about his first practice.

Isn’t that the best name? I love it. 🙂

That would have been awesome! Mikey’s soccer team was almost the banana slugs (or some other ridiculous name). I was rooting for something ridiculous but no one else agreed so they went with the ‘rascals’ – which is still fitting. Now they don’t get to pick for baseball so they are the white sox. BORING.
