After a six-month hiatus, Brewsday Tuesday is back! While picking up some things for burgers I noticed this new addition to the local Winn-Dixie beer section.  It looked like it needed a good home, so I decided to adopt a six-pack.  Cheers!

Name: Honker’s Ale

Brewed by: Goose Island Beer Co.

Location: Chicago, IL

Style/ABV: English Bitter / 4.3%

Appearance: Pours a deep orange red color with a two finger light cream head. A moderate amount of lacing is left behind in my glass as this beer disappears.

Smell: Biscuity malts with slight citrus notes.

Taste: Sweet malts up front with some lemon zest citrus notes in the middle and a grassy hop finish.  Nice.

Mouthfeel: Nicely balanced, moderately carbonated, smooth.

Overall: Honker’s Ale was very refreshing and is a good bitter worth picking up. Also, at 4.3% ABV is very sessionable

Final Grade: B
