Mason’s First Pair of Baseball Cleats
At Mason’s first t-ball practice he was the only kid not wearing cleats. It didn’t really affect him, but when he came off the field I told him we would go get him a pair of baseball cleats later in the week. Tonight when Becky got home we loaded into the car and headed to Academy Sports in Tallahassee. The kid sized cleats were located at the back of the store along a wall. Mason looked over them before settling on a black paid of Nike cleats. He tried them on, and he had plenty of room. While we were at the store we also picked him up a t-ball ball.
By the time we got home after dinner it was almost 8 o’clock. The last rays of light were fading as Mason asked to try on his new cleats so he could see if they made him “super fast.” He sat on the edge of the stairs as put them on and tied them tight. He took off running around the right side of the house. I waited for him on the left and saw him run around the corner at full speed. He had a big smile on his face.
“Did they make you run super fast Mase?”
“They did daddy! I love my cleats. Thank you and mommy for buying them for me.”
He would not let the bright orange box out of his sight for the rest of the night. I am happy he is excited about t-ball and his new cleats.
